La Unidad Empresarial de Base (UEB) Materiales de la Construcción de Colón tiene la responsabilidad de llevar adelante el programa local de producción de materiales. Actualmente, aunque el cumplimiento del plan se dificulta por diversas causas, las principales líneas productivas son los bloques, losas y vigas para techo, destinados a los damnificados del huracán Irma y casos de subsidios.
Diariamente la producción es de 20 vigas con la medida de 3.90metros, 120 losas y 90 bloques, según información de Aracelis Beruvides Marrero, jefa de producción de la UEB
