Por el central Jesús Rabí, en el sureño municipio de Calimete, inició la zafra 2017-2018 en la provincia de Matanzas. En esta contienda, en el ingenio, se deberán producir más de 38 mil toneladas de azúcar.
Además, el objetivo fundamental es el de moler estable y con eficiencia, declaró Tomás Zamora, jefe de zafra de la industria.
“El central está en óptimas condiciones de moler sobre el 85 por ciento de su norma potencial. La parte agrícola preparó su maquinaria con un mes de adelanto para afrontar la cosecha con las afectaciones provocadas por el huracán Irma”, explicó el directivo.
El periodo de reparaciones fue decisivo y se priorizó el área de basculadores donde se montaron motores de mayor potencia y se repararon integralmente las calderas.
