La Organización Panamericana de la salud (OPS)ha iniciado el proyecto de informatización Reducción del Riesgo Cardiovascular con el fin de mejorar el control de los pacientes hipertensos y reducir las muertes prematuras asociadas a enfermedades cardiovasculares. Con este propósito fue escogida la Provincia de Matanzas para implementar este proyecto.
La hipertensión arterial es el principal factor de riesgo para padecer enfermedades cardiovasculares que pueden constituir la primera causa de muerte. El control de estos pacientes se hace necesario porque los índices son cada vez más altos. La Empresa de Desarrollo de softwares Desoft de la Provincia de Matanzas ha implementado un proyecto en varias instituciones hospitalarias con el fin de controlar a los pacientes que padecen esta enfermedad.
Según Dairon Domínguez Vega, especialista principal de desarrollo Desoft, este proyecto fue implementado a partir de los estudios realizados por la OPS con su iniciativa HEARTS para las Américas en la que validan un algoritmo de un tratamiento que se les aplica a los pacientes que padecen la hipertensión. “Seleccionaron cuatro países entre los que fue escogido Cuba, y a principios de 2016 la Unión de Informáticos de Cuba (UIC) se pronuncia a favor de apoyar esta informatización del proyecto de conjunto con el policlínico Carlos Verdugo. Tuvieron muy poco tiempo de desarrollo y cuando decidieron implementarlo como proyecto para expandirlo a todos los demás policlínicos y zonas del país no fue posible debido a que las herramientas utilizadas fueron privativas. Luego, coordinaron con Desoft para que asumiera el desarrollo del proyecto, pero esta vez lo comenzaron a desplegar con plataformas de softwares libres”.
La OPS visitó el policlínico Carlos Verdugo donde pudo percatarse del funcionamiento del proyecto y sus buenos resultados.
“El proyecto consta de dos partes, una aplicación desktop, que puede ser utilizada en la laptop o en el teléfono móvil, y otra que se despliega en la web que se puede acceder desde cualquier navegador. Con esta aplicación desktop, que se utiliza offline, el médico recoge todos los datos y los puede sincronizar en el policlínico y obtener, a su vez, otras consultas de otros pacientes. Todo ello tiene como ventaja que el historial de un paciente puede ser consultado por otro médico y en caso de tener que tratarlo ya tiene la información que necesita para ello”, comentó Dairon.
El Proyecto contará, además, con varios módulos que optimizarán los procesos no solo para los pacientes hipertensos, sino también para los que padecen otras enfermedades.
“Se quiere trabajar en la informatización de los análisis en los laboratorios y la venta de los medicamentos a estos pacientes, así como otros estudios que implicarán una ampliación de la aplicación para los pacientes que padecen diabetes, que muchas veces viene aparejada con la hipertensión”, destacó Domínguez Vega.
La salud es un renglón fundamental de la nación cubana y se distingue por su calidad. Informatizar los procesos que se realizan a diario de manera engorrosa permite agilizar el trabajo y brindar un mejor servicio.
