La Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas desarrolla un amplio programa de actividades estudiantiles en instituciones de salud del territorio en saludo al 19 de octubre, Día Mundial de la Lucha contra el Cáncer de Mama.
La iniciativa parte del proyecto de investigación Amazonas de la Esperanza que con un enfoque comunitario se dedica a elevar la calidad de vida de las pacientes operadas de esta enfermedad. Sobre las actividades previstas Lena Alonso Triana, jefa principal del proyecto y metodóloga de trabajo educativo y extensión universitaria, explica:
“Mañana lunes iniciaremos la jornada con una exposición en el pasillo central de la Universidad con las memorias del proyecto Amazonas de la Esperanza en sus quince años de fundado. El martes participaremos en la consulta multidisciplinaria de cáncer de mama en el hospital Faustino Pérez, donde los estudiantes colocarán lazos rosados a los participantes y hablarán de los factores de riesgo de la enfermedad”.
Alonso Triana destaca que el miércoles llegarán hasta el servicio de Oncología de la provincia donde realizarán una intervención dedicada a la felicidad, la vida y el amor, con la presencia de miembros del movimiento de artistas aficionados. En el horario de la tarde se impartirán dos cursos extensionistas y hablarán sobre los principales medicamentos que hoy se utilizan para combatir el cáncer de mama.
“El jueves trabajaremos desde la superación con el impacto psicológico de la enfermedad y la Máster en Ciencias Dania Díaz Díaz hablará sobre el estrés profesional de quienes trabajan con estas pacientes. Además, el proyecto Amazonas estará en la calle Narváez, en la galería del artista Mederos, donde psicólogos, cirujanos, oncólogos, radiólogos y enfermeros intercambiarán saberes y experiencias”, señala la doctora.
Asimismo acudirán a la cita los miembros del proyecto Palomas de Esperanza, que surgió hace aproximadamente un año con el objetivo de ayudar a las pacientes operadas de cáncer cérvico uterino.
El mismo jueves tendrá lugar un festival de poesía con artistas aficionados de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas inspirados en estos temas, junto a una de las pacientes que compartirá sus vivencias por medio de dicho género literario. Y los días restantes las actividades se extenderán hacia otros municipios de la provincia.
“El viernes se trabajará en las comunidades la prevención del cáncer de mama, mientras el sábado se impartirán en Cárdenas dos cursos relacionados con este padecimiento”, agrega Lena Alonso.
De esta forma, a lo largo de la venidera semana los estudiantes de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas esparcirán su alegría por centros asistenciales y comunidades, otra forma de luchar contra el cáncer de mama y sonreírle a la vida.POR JEIDI SUÁREZ GARCÍA (RADIO 26)
