La VII Edición del Festival de Hip Hop Potaje Urbano concluyó en Colón la noche del domingo con un concierto que reunió a quienes, desde el día 5 de febrero, participan en la cita que organizan 2 veces al año la Dirección Municipal de Cultura y la Asociación Hermanos Saiz.
Según Yosmel Sarrías Nápoles, más conocido como Sekou, y quien fuera fundador de la reconocida agrupación de hip hop Anónimo Consejo, el festival evidencia el apoyo de las instituciones culturales del territorio para lograr el acercamiento del género a la comunidad, y permitir el encuentro entre sus exponentes de varias provincias.
¨En Colón han entendido la importancia que tiene para nosotros y trabajan para que las personas conozcan qué es el hip hop ¨, aseguró Sekou, quien agregó que aún existen prejuicios hacia las personas que cultivan el género.¨ Casi siempre se nos mira como extraños, pero somos simplemente diferentes. Hay raperos que hacen crítica social, otros le cantan al amor o a la vida. Las letras de las canciones en sentido general tratan temas de índole social y no incitan a la violencia¨.
Durante los 6 días que duró el evento se realizaron conciertos, competencias de Djs, break-dance, Freestyle (improvisación) y eventos teóricos, entre los que destacan conferencias y talleres. ¨Al agruparnos y compartir experiencias, debatir sobre la cultura hip hop, todos aprendemos y aportamos¨, afirmó el artista.
Potaje Urbano en esta edición contó con la presencia del dúo Obsesión, La Faraona, Cuentas Claras, Sekou, Malcom Beybe, AKM, de Santiago de Cuba, y Robe el Ninho, de Artemisa, entre otros exponentes del género en Cuba. Además asitieron músicos foráneos como los alemanes Megaloh, Retrogott y Defcon.
El Festival de Hip Hop Potaje Urbano tendrá su próxima edición en el mes de agosto, un espacio que se reafirma para la promoción de un género originario de New York en los años 70 del pasado siglo XX, y que tomó fuerza en la Isla en la década del 80.
