A las 9 :00 de la mañana las competencias darán inicio con la CRI femenina, sobre un recorrido de 10,6 kilómetros, en los cuales las corredoras deberán completar dos vueltas para realizar los 21.2 kilómetros, que abarca la distancia total de la competencia. La salida estará en la intersección de la calle 10 de Cali con la salida a la vía a Dapa (antigua vía a Jumbo).
Por la previsión de la hora de llegada, se espera que la ganadora de la prueba sea la primera medallista de oro de los Juegos.
El trazado de la CRI masculina será idéntico, pero los corredores deberán completar tres vueltas para realizar los 31.8 kilómetros que abarca la distancia total de la competencia. La salida para los varones está contemplada para las 10:30 de la mañana.
La salida estará en la intersección de la calle 10 de Cali con la salida a la vía a Dapa (antigua vía a Jumbo), teniendo como punto de retorno la estación de gasolina de Las Américas.
Los grandes favoritos para la jornada son los pedalistas colombiano, con Ana Cristina Sanabria y Diana Peñuela en la rama femenina. Por los hombres, Rodrigo Contreras y Walter Vargas son los más opcionados.
