Con el objetivo de secar los granos después de la cosecha para contribuir a su conservación, se vislumbra en el municipio de Colón la Unidad Empresarial de Base Agroindustrial Santa Gertrudis, obra que inicio el 2 de junio del 2016.
Según su director, Delio Montes Zulueta, de los 12 objetos de obra previstos a ejecutarse durante el 2017, 2 culminaron con éxito y el resto se encuentran a un 95,2%.
