En la edición 34 de FestiVOZ, tradicional fiesta de la izquierda colombiana, se emitió un mensaje de apoyo solidario a la Revolución cubana y a los demás países latinoamericanos que soportan con estoicismo la agresión imperial de Estados Unidos.
Alberto Acevedo, coordinador de la información internacional del Semanario VOZ, publicación del Partido Comunista Colombiano (PCC), dijo que, desde los albores de la Revolución cubana, ‘no vacilamos un solo momento en prestar la solidaridad’.
Pensamos que hoy, al cabo de más de seis décadas de Revolución, el pueblo cubano es un referente para nosotros y para los pueblos de América Latina. Seguimos, sin lugar a dudas, prestando toda la solidaridad que esté a nuestro alcance, enfatizó.
VOZ se ha caracterizado por una activa solidaridad internacionalista con los pueblos de América Latina y el mundo, pero en particular con la Revolución cubana que es nuestro ejemplo, remarcó al intervenir en un conversatorio que tuvo lugar en el contexto de FestiVOZ.
Por su parte, Omar Rafael García, primer secretario de la Embajada de Cuba en Colombia, se refirió al recrudecimiento del bloqueo económico, comercial y financiero impuesto por Estados Unidos a la mayor de las Antillas.
En tal sentido, señaló la persecución financiera, las multas a bancos que evidencian la extraterritorialidad de ese cerco, y la persecución a las operaciones de importación de petróleo, al tiempo que resaltó las transformaciones que tienen lugar en la isla en el ámbito económico y social, con coherencia política.
El pueblo cubano es un pueblo preparado, consciente e informado por ese existe ese consenso y esa unidad en torno al nuevo liderazgo. La Revolución sigue ahí, y sigue necesitando el cariño, la solidaridad y el acompañamiento de los pueblos del mundo, significó García.
Asimismo, apuntó, que la política del gobierno de Estados Unidos contra Cuba forma parte de la contraofensiva contra América Latina. Estamos resistiendo y vamos a vencer. Seguimos confiando en la capacidad de los pueblos para superar los obstáculos, puntualizó.
Al intervenir en el conversatorio, la embajadora de Nicaragua en Colombia, Yara Pérez, subrayó que Cuba ha resistido las mentiras y el bloqueo de Estados Unidos por 60 años.
También se refirió a los ataques de Washington contra países como Venezuela y Nicaragua. El pueblo nicaragüense dice sí a la Revolución sandinista y el Comandante Daniel Ortega, aseveró.
Somos pueblos que no nos vendemos ni rendimos, no somos el patio trasero de ninguna potencia, somos independientes. Los países progresistas deben luchas por vivir en paz, que los pueblos escriban su historia, recalcó.
Participantes en el conversatorio insistieron en la importancia de rodear de solidaridad a la Revolución cubana; al PCC, a la Unión Patriótica y al partido FARC, cuyas sedes fueron blancos recientes de ataques; y de acompañar al estudiantado y al movimiento obrero colombiano en sus marchas.
También se invitó a participar en el Encuentro Antiimperialista de Solidaridad, por la Democracia y contra el Neoliberalismo que se desarrollará del 1 al 3 de noviembre en La Habana; y en el Encuentro Nacional de Solidaridad con Cuba del 7 al 9 de noviembre en Medellín.
En la cita participaron también el secretario general del PCC, Jaime Caycedo; el reconocido escritor José Luis Díaz-Granados; Rodrigo Granda, del partido FARC; y miembros del Movimiento Colombiano de Solidaridad con Cuba.
