La Unión de Asociaciones Europeas de Fútbol (UEFA) indicó nuevos cambios en sus competiciones de clubes a partir de la temporada de la Liga de Campeones 2018-2019.
Las novedades de la UEFA permiten la autorización para un cuarto cambio en la prórroga, los horarios de 18:55 (hora local) y 21:00 en la Champions y la Liga Europa, y aprueba 23 jugadores para las finales, en lugar de los 18 para los otros partidos.
Esto permitirá que 12 suplentes se sienten en el banquillo y no siete, proporcionando así a los clubes, y en particular a los entrenadores, más flexibilidad con respecto a los cambios y facilita la gestión de su plantilla en el partido más importante de la temporada.
La Supercopa de Europa comenzará a las 21:00 hora local, horario que se aplicará desde la próxima, el 15 de agosto en el Lilleküla Stadium de Tallin.
Después de la fase de grupos de la Liga de Campeones y la Liga Europa los clubes podrán registrar a tres nuevos jugadores elegibles sin ninguna restricción.
Hasta esta temporada no se permitía registrar a un futbolista que jugó en la primera etapa del torneo con otro club.
A partir de la temporada 2018-2019, como en el caso de la Champions, los equipos que hayan ganado la Liga Europa tres veces consecutivas o un mínimo de cinco veces dispondrán de una insignia en la manga de su camiseta como ganador múltiple.
El único equipo con derecho a usar esta insignia durante la próxima temporada sería el Sevilla FC, que ha ganado el torneo en cinco ocasiones (2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016).(Tomado de Radio prensa Latina)
